Frequently asked questions

Are your lights energy efficient? +

We exclusively use LED technology. LED lights are significantly brighter, more energy-efficient and longer-lasting than traditional halogen bulbs — vibrant illumination, lower energy bills, fewer replacements.

Do you work with contractors as well as homeowners? +

Working directly with homeowners is our bread and butter, but we very much value our contractor relationships. We work with several contractors as their outdoor lighting specialists, and with landscape designers.

How much should I expect to spend on landscape lighting? +

It depends on fixture type and quality, design complexity and overall scope. Many homeowners complete their lighting in stages, starting with key focal points and expanding over time. We will tailor a plan to your vision and budget.

What is the difference between warm and cool colour temperatures? +

Colour temperature sets the mood. Warm white (2700K–3000K) creates a cozy atmosphere, cool white or daylight (5000K–6500K) promotes alertness, and soft or neutral white (3500K–4100K) offers a versatile balance.

Why hire a lighting professional? What about DIY? +

Most DIY kits are of inferior quality and some need replacing yearly. Solar lights rarely have the output to light larger plants or architectural details. Forma Build brings design, product knowledge and professional installation to an investment meant to last.
